Like this Zero DS, yes it costs 10k but it has a 130 mile capacity and it would probobly cost less a month than putting gas into the pick up truck (about $150 a month!).

I like this idea. I wish I lived someplace that commuting on a bike didn't scare the crap out of me...like fiji.

I've been on one of those, the seating position seemed to be a little too high IMO. The price too, but there were rebates available too, so it's got that going for it.

Pick up any 500cc or smaller used bike for like $2500 - invest about $300 in some good riding gear. Problem solved!
The electric bike thing seems cool but eh, I commute 80 miles a day, I would have too much range anxiety. I'll stick with my cheapo Katana 600.

I get 42mpg 148mi/tank on my GSX-R1000! I'd love an electric bike too, but it has to offer me something better than my GSX-R does or its not worth it. Most of them have crappy brakes, crappy tires, are cheap and heavy feeling. I've seen precisely ONE that I would want to own.. the Mission R. And its $30k. :(
